This year we raised over $35,000 making Derby Days one of the largest philanthropy events on campus.Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals & Huntsman Cancer Institute Our chapters process benefits the Make a Wish foundation. Chapters all across the United States and Canada participate in the week-long extravaganza that includes field day competitions, skit nights, talent shows, and much more. Whether playing pool in the house’s social room, hitting the pass to ski, or cooling off in the Montlake Cut, there will always be a group of brothers willing to join together for an adventure.ĭerby Days is Sigma Chi’s national philanthropy. While taking academics seriously, our brothers also like to have fun by embodying the “work hard play hard” mentality. Locally our alumni network is over 2,500 strong and internationally Sigma Chi has the largest network of over 345,000 living alumni, which provides our members with a wide variety of networking opportunities inside and outside of the Seattle area. Outside of the classroom, our scholarship team works with brothers to develop career skills by sponsoring workshops to create LinkedIn accounts, bolster resumes, and apply to our two chapter scholarships. This year, over half of the membership has made the dean's list, and in the Fall we achieved fifth in grades with a 3.4 house GPA. With a diverse array of majors represented, our Chapter GPA has been above the All Men’s Average for the past three years. Our scholarship team is constantly working to improve the academic standing of our chapter. Our objective is to recruit new members who excel in scholastics and continue their development through learning opportunities.
